FMH Conveyors is adding a
Technical Writer , responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for the organization's various product lines. This individual must have excellent research skills, be self-directed, able to organize their ideas, and be able to translate technical terms into text that any reader can understand.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties as assigned.
- Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently
- Be able to work cross functionally with other departments
- Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
- Strong ability to collaborate with others
- Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Review existing documentation and convert or reformat as needed
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Communication, English, Journalism, or related field
- Demonstrated success as a Technical Writer
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
