LCRA is looking for a motivated individual to join our Facility Services Team to grow with us as a Facility Construction Tech II. This position will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure in and around office buildings, sub-stations, plants, telecom sites, dams, and parks. You will be trusted to: - Perform construction, demolition, and renovation of building spaces to support tenant needs.
- Install, repair, and replace concrete surfaces, framing, siding, drywall, doors and hardware, cabinets, ceiling tile, and various types of flooring, roofing, decking, and flashing.
- Prep surfaces and apply paints, stains, and sealants.
- Operate skid steer, forklift and mechanical lifts as needed.
- Order parts and materials as needed for repairs and shop inventory.
- Provide guidance and support less tenured technicians, facilitating knowledge transfer and skill development within the team.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of current industry standards and best practices related to construction, Indoor Air Quality, and facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with all codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, contractors, and site staff.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of current industry trends, best practices, current methods, and technologies related to construction processes and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site.
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to remote facilities as scheduled.
You qualify with: - Two or more years of experience in general construction, painting, drywall, framing , carpentry or other relevant experience.
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with: - Knowledge of facility safety codes, regulations and best practices per such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association.
- Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of door hardware and replacement techniques, including mechanical and electrical elements.
- Ability to develop scopes of work and project estimates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of concrete or structural principles and work methods.
- Ability to read and interpret structural diagrams, prints and specifications.
- Knowledge of common framing principles and different levels of drywall finish
- Skilled in the use of handheld manual and power tools.
- Basic skill level in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
